CIL
The Community Infrastructure Levy is a charge which is levied by local authorities (in this case Gedling Borough Council), on developers who wish to develop on land in their area. It is designed to help the local authority deliver the infrastructure to support the new housing or development.

All meetings of the Parish Council take place on the third Monday of the month unless they coincide with a bank holiday, in which case, they will usually take place on following Tuesday or on the fourth Monday of the month. They will start at 6.30pm.

The BESS Planning Application
Lambley Parish Council has joined Burton Joyce Parish Council in objecting to the planning application made by Grenergy to Gedling Borough Council for the development of a Battery Energy Storage System, BESS, to be sited on land behind Top Wood Farm on Spring Lane. The site is just in the Burton Joyce Parish but access would be from Spring Lane in Lambley. Following two public meetings, a powerpoint presentation has been produced outlining what has been proposed and our objections to them.

The application was passed by the Planning Committee despite over 200 objections, one of which was by our MP, Michael Payne. We are looking into making a formal appeal of this decision.

650 New Homes for Lambley
The draft of Gedling Local Development Plan has just been released. It shows plans for 650 new homes in the Parish along the eastern edge of Mapperley Plains. See https://www.lambleyparishcouncil.org.uk/GLDP.pdf
The plan envisions surface water drainage into the Dumble and in the view of the Parish Council, this will increase the flood risk to the village.

LAMBLEY PLAYGROUND – CLOSURE NOTICE
Following concerns regarding the condition and safety of the existing play equipment and surfacing, Lambley Parish Council has closed the playground on safety grounds.
Sadly, due to the condition of the existing playground, it will remain closed until we are able to secure the funding needed to replace it with a new play facility.
We know how disappointing this will be for our children and families, but the safety of everyone using the playground must come first.
The Friends of Lambley Playground, working with Lambley Parish Council, are now focused on raising approximately £175,000 to provide our village with a new, safe and inclusive playground.
We will be applying for grants and seeking sponsorship, donations and community support to help make the new playground a reality.
Now more than ever, we need the support of our community.
We’ll keep everyone updated on our fundraising and progress.
Please do not enter or use the playground while it is closed.
